Site redesign 3

I’m admitting defeat.
Having been working on and off on the new design and restructure of this blog for nearly 3 months, I’m taking a shortcut.
My basic problem is don’t know enough about CSS, and I don’t have great design skills. I can often tweak bits of other peoples CSS, but coding from near scratch has proved too much. I would love to learn more about it, but I simply don’t have the time to put into it at the moment.
Simon has been very patient and helpful, and I have learned quite a lot in the process, but I need to move on.

Fortunately, the fine folk that make up the Textpattern Community have been running a competition for the design of templates for Textpattern – the fine open source CMS that drives this site and many others, and there are some fine entries. So, I’m going to do what I know best: take someone else’s hard work, and tweak it to suit me!

It’s a bit of a shame, as I liked the design I was working on, but life is too short to spend too much of it on this.

Hopefully, the new design and structure will be in place in a week or so…
